2026 SECOND HOTEST YEAR

Ecology Published on 06/11/2026 | 14:39

According to the European Copernicus Observatory, 2026 is expected to become the second warmest year ever recorded globally, after 2024. October also broke a historical record, with the global average temperature 1.75°C above pre-industrial levels. This increase is exacerbated by a particularly strong El Niño event, which adds to the climate warming linked to human activities. For scientists, this data confirms the accelerating pace of climate change and the growing difficulty of meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement.
