POUYANNE CRITIQUE LA POLITIQUE ENERGETIQUE EUROPEENNE
Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of Total Energies, criticizes the European Union's energy choices, which he considers too dependent on decarbonization targets and insufficiently geared towards energy sovereignty. He believes, in particular, that relaxing gas storage requirements exposes Europe more to international tensions and Asian competition for liquefied natural gas supplies. According to him, Europe should not experience shortages this winter, but will have to pay more to secure its supplies. He therefore calls for a more pragmatic energy strategy that integrates the imperatives of security and competitiveness.
