RAAM SUPPORTS EISENKOT AGAINST NETANYAHU

The Arab-Israeli party Raam announced it would recommend Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the centrist opposition bloc, to form the next government. With the support of its eight members of parliament, Eisenkot strengthens his position against Benjamin Netanyahu, whose camp also lacks a parliamentary majority. This move could secure President Isaac Herzog's first attempt at forming a coalition, but negotiations are expected to be difficult in order to reach the necessary 61 seats.
