ISRAEL HERZOG WILL ANNOUNCE THE NEXT PRIME MINISTER ON SUNDAY

Israeli President Isaac Herzog will announce on Sunday, November 8, the name of the person tasked with forming the next government, following parliamentary elections that failed to secure an absolute majority. Former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot has the support of 67 members of parliament, compared to 46 for outgoing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Despite this advantage, political divisions and difficulties in forming a coalition are making negotiations particularly delicate. The chosen candidate will have 28 days to form a government, with a possible 14-day extension.
